Generating a quote is the beginning of the reservation process, not the final confirmation. The estimate gives you a trip-specific starting point based on the information entered. The next steps make sure the actual ride details, vehicle needs, and payment authorization match the transportation being requested.
Step 1: The trip request is recorded
When the quote form is submitted, the system records the date and time, pickup, destination, passenger count, luggage count, phone number, email address when provided, flight number when applicable, and the estimated quote. EZ Black Car also receives an internal notification so the request can be reviewed.
Accurate addresses make the estimate more useful. If an address is missing, the request may still be recorded, but the team may need to contact the customer before the transportation can be confirmed. Airport trips are easier to review when the airline and flight number are included.
Step 2: The estimate is reviewed against the itinerary
An instant estimate is based on the trip information available at that moment. A review may consider whether the pickup or destination is at DTW, the planned route, passenger and luggage space, additional stops, pickup timing, and any special instructions.
This distinction protects the customer from treating an incomplete itinerary as a confirmed ride. It also gives the team an opportunity to identify details that affect the service, such as an unusually large luggage load, a child seat request, a meet-and-greet request, or a stop that was not included in the original route.
Step 3: The customer continues to secure the reservation
When the trip is ready to move forward, the customer receives the appropriate next step for secure payment authorization. Card information is handled through the payment flow and is not stored as ordinary text in the trip record.
A quote request should not be treated as a guaranteed pickup until the reservation has been reviewed and confirmed. If timing is important—especially for an early-morning flight, a corporate meeting, or a major Detroit event—submit the request early enough to allow the itinerary to be checked.
Step 4: Confirmation provides the final trip record
The confirmation should reflect the agreed pickup date and time, pickup location, destination, passenger information, and other important trip details. Review it when it arrives. If something is incorrect, request the change before the day of service rather than waiting until the chauffeur is en route.
For an airport arrival, changes to the airline or flight number should also be shared. For a departure, a hotel name alone may not be enough when there are multiple entrances, towers, or pickup areas; an exact meeting instruction can prevent confusion.
